Argentina and the United States have advanced to the round of 16 at the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) U-20 World Cup 2023 after topping their respective groups.
Argentina cruised to a 5-0 victory over New Zealand in the final Group A match of the tournament on Sunday (July 27) at San Juan Stadium. They scored three goals in the first half and added two more in the second.
Argentina, who had earlier secured their spot in the Round of 16 with wins over Uzbekistan (2-1) and Guatemala (3-0), finished the group with three wins out of three.
Argentina will face one of the top three teams from Pools C, D, and E in the Round of 16. The last time they played in Poland in 2019, they reached the round of 16 and will be looking for their first win on home soil in 16 years.
