Bucheon recruits defender Hong Seong-wook

On the 11th, Bucheon announced that they had strengthened their defense by signing Hong Seong-wook, a central defender born in 2002.

After graduating from Bukyung High School, Hong Seong-wook, who went straight to pro, debuted in the K-League at Jeju United in 2021. Hong Seong-wook, who did not receive many opportunities in Jeju, moved to Bucheon after being loaned to Muangtong United FC in Thailand in 2022.

Hong Seong-wook, who has high provisioning power and excellent interpersonal marking ability based on his tall height, was consistently selected for national teams by age, such as the 2018 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U16 Championship national team and the 2020 U19 national team, revealing his potential early on. In particular, he contributed to advancing to the finals with the winning goal in the third round of the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup group stage and led Korea to advance to the quarterfinals.

With the recruitment of Hong Seong-wook, Bucheon infused young blood into the defensive line. Hong Seong-wook can also be used as a U22 resource in the 2023 season, and is expected to add youthful energy and vitality to Bucheon’s defense.

Hong Seong-wook said, “I was desperate for the opportunity and desire to play. Seeing the growth of Jae-hyuk Oh and Hyun-taek Cho, who I lived with in the national team by age group, in Bucheon, I believed that I could learn a lot and grow into a bigger player in the team called Bucheon.” He expressed his feelings about joining. 안전놀이터
