“Even in the late innings, bring the center”…Salt’s desire for a pitcher with only ‘1 loss’ in 17 games.

Adam Plutko (LG Twins) was LG’s ace in the first half. In 17 starts, he went 11-1 with a record of 102 innings pitched, 28 runs (25 earned) allowed, 24 walks, 82 strikeouts, a 2.21 ERA, and a 1.10 WHIP. He is second in wins and third in ERA.

After resting after his last start against the Busan Lotte Giants on Aug. 8, Plutko will take the mound against the KT Wiz in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at KT Wiz Park in Suwon on Aug. 25. It will be his first start of the second half.

The starting pitcher is Wes Benjamin.

Benjamin has been strong in the LG this season. In three games, he has pitched 17 1/3 innings, allowing eight runs (two earned), 11 hits (two home runs), one walk, 17 strikeouts, and a 1.04 ERA with a 0.69 WHIP.

Manager Yoon Kyung-yeop said of Benjamin, “I need to be more confident with my fastball. If you miss the fastball, the count will be unfavorable.” “I think it’s our targeted selection.
