A member of the world youth team seeking to recapture the top for the first time in 15 years since 2008 has been confirmed.
On the 18th, the Korea Baseball 메이저사이트 Softball Association (hereinafter referred to as the “Association”) confirmed 20 players to participate in the 31st World Youth Baseball Championship (U-18 Baseball World Cup) in a press release.
First of all, Chungam High School coach Lee Young-bok was selected first as the coaching staff, while Yulgok High School coach Moon Yong-soo, Cheongju High School coach Kim In-chul, and Gunsan Sangil High School coach Seok Soo-chul joined the national team. Head coach Moon Yong-soo will be the head coach of the national team, head coach Kim In-cheol will be the pitching coach, and head coach Seok Soo-chul, known as the “action leader,” will assist head coach Lee Young-bok as a fielder and base coach.
The squad list is even more spectacular. It included “Jotani” Cho Dae-hyun (Gangneung High School) and “Jeontani” Jeon Mir (Gyeongbuk High School 3rd), who are active on the high school stage as both pitching and hitting, and Jangchung High School left and right ace duo Hwang Joon-seo and Yuk Sun-yeop were also selected. Left-hander Bae Chan-seung (Daegu High School) and right-hander Park Kun-woo (Chungam High School), who are showing off unusual performances as second-year students, including ace Kim Taek-yeon (Incheon High School), nicknamed “Little Oh Seung-hwan,” joined.
The batting line is also quite good. Lee Sang-joon (Gyeonggi High School), a “big gun” who won the World Power Showcase, and Lee Yul-ye (Gangneung High School), a second-year student who participated as a bullpen catcher in last year’s tournament, will play as home moms. In addition, infield prospects such as Park Ji-hwan (Sebyeong High School), Yeo Dong-gun (Seoul High School), and Jung An-seok (Whimoon High School) are expected to be keystone combinations, and Lee Chung-heon (Chungam High School), who has mobility and defense, will serve as the axis of the outfield.
A total of 12 countries will participate in the World Youth Championships, and South Korea will be in Group A to play preliminary rounds against Taiwan, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Australia and the Czech Republic. Group B consisted of the United States, Japan, Venezuela, Panama, the Netherlands, and Spain.
The top three teams in the preliminary round will advance to the super round, and the final two teams in the overall performance, which combines the opponent’s record of the preliminary round (2 games) and the super round’s performance (3 games), will advance to the final round.
The Korean national team has not been able to win for 15 years since it won in 2008. It was recently in 2017 when Kang Baek-ho (KT) played an active role in advancing to the finals. Last year, he failed to win a medal after losing to Japan in the 3-4th place match.
