AS Roma (Italy) head coach Jose Mourinho has publicly criticized Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.
Mourinho said in a press conference on Saturday (June 26), “Tottenham is the only club in my long managerial career that I don’t have deep feelings for. FC Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United, all the clubs I have managed before, I have a deep connection with,” Mourinho said. 스포츠토토
“I don’t have any special feelings for Tottenham, which could be partly due to the fact that I managed them in an empty stadium in the aftermath of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Also, Mr. Levy didn’t give me much authority,” he added, “and he didn’t allow me to play the final.”
Considered one of the world’s greatest coaches, Mourinho has won trophies with every team he has managed. He has lifted 28 trophies in his career.
However, he has been unsuccessful at Tottenham.
Under Mourinho, Spurs reached the EFL Cup final. However, Levy sacked Mourinho just five days before the final. With Ryan Mason in charge, Spurs hastily prepared for the final and lost to Manchester City.
Since Mourinho’s departure, Spurs have been without a manager for 15 years, with Nuno, Antonio Conte, and others failing to make an impact.
Mourinho, on the other hand, has been in charge of Roma since last season after leaving Tottenham, winning the UEFA Conference League title in his first season. This season, they reached the UEFA Europa League final, where they shared the title with Sevilla (Spain).
Mourinho, who has led Roma to the European club competition final for two consecutive seasons, said: “It can be tough in Rome. But we will have good memories forever, like all the other teams except Tottenham,” Mourinho said, once again taking a shot at Levy’s Tottenham.
